Bernadette L. Peters was born Bernadette. Lazzara in Ozone Park Queens New York on 28 February 1948 is a singer/songwriter, as well as an author of children's books. Over the course of her career for five decades, she has appeared in television and musicals as well as solo concerts and recorded albums. She's one of Broadway's most well-known performers. Nominated to win seven Tony Awards (winning two), she also won the award of eight Drama Desk Awards. The four Broadway album of cast on which she's performed were awarded Grammy Awards.
